The Torso, Back and Chest
The torso structure is made up from several parts that slot together with dovetail type joints. Inside the chest there is large servo that drives the neck piston, giving the head its up and down movement.
The front is covered by the chest parts. These are mainly costmetic but do house a PIR sensor.
The back is also made up of mainly cosmetic parts, but does have some function as a battery holder. There are two Li-Po batteries located in the back that power the robot. Also on the back is a touch screen display housed inside a bracket designed by myself.
The torso also contains two Arduino Megas and a version 4 Raspberry Pi. There are two 12Amp buck converters which are used to lower the nominal 11.1 volts from the Li-Po batteries down to around 5.5volts to power the servos.
